Sunday’s Cav Collective social… Christmas jumpers, wooly hats and gloves, freezing cold weather, a deep white frost and not forgetting the antlers… it’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!
Thanks to Sharon for her warm welcome at Watergate cafe at the end of our walk – it was freezing (too cold for some of the youngsters who had to give the walk a miss and warm their cold hands and toes at the cafe). Yummy luxury marshmallow hot chocolate was just the medicine!
The next Cav Collective meet up will be Sunday 14th January 2018 setting off on our walk promptly @9.45 AM from the main car park and finishing at Watergate Cafe. Please check the weather and dress appropriately/wrap up warm if it’s another cold one!

A really lovely Halloween doggie social in the park, some very cute costumes, lots of very fast fluff, an honorary doggie called James and even a little bit of cake… what more can you ask for?

A lovely morning of socialising in the park. The weather was a little on the bleak side but we were still rewarded with some lovely autumn doggie snaps…

Just a shout out for a great little product that I’ve never seen used before until last week when I was out walking at Causey Arch. It’s a ‘Bear Bell’ that your dog can wear which can help to alert prey that your dog is coming and also help locate your dog if they have a tendency to stray or prey into dense wooded or long grassy areas. Obviously not quite as effective or high tech as GPS but seems like a really great idea. The bell also includes a magnetic silencer for those times you don’t want it to be ringing away. Well worth a look – especially beagle owners!!!
I met a lady at Causey Arch whose dogs were both wearing them and they seemed like a very well made product and very good value for money… take a look here Just Dogs in Edinburgh is selling them for just £3.99 each which seems a bargain?!?!
If you do use them then drop me a line as would be great to hear if you think the product has helped you with your dog?
Very happy (and a little bit relieved) to have had some snow this week. It’s meant a chance for some cleaner walks for the doggies, and well, I just love the snow even more than they do (if that’s possible).
We didn’t use the car and had a few days of Whickham walkabout – picking up dogs along the way which they loved – popping by to pick up their pals.
It meant six hours out in the snow for me but happy to report that my snow boots did the job and my feet stayed snuggly warm – despite the freezing conditions 🙂
As you may have seen from the facebook update we had a few serious cases of snowballs! This eventually put an end to some of the doggies fun.
But overall just gorgeous – we loved it. I think I speak for all the doggies (maybe apart from little Oscar) when I say ‘more snow please’.
At last… after at least a solid week of rain, murk, gloom , mud and unseasonably mild weather, the sun eventually came out today. By the time of my third walk the sky was blue, the sun shining – it was just lovely.
I grew up right by the sea, a minutes walk from the beach and I miss it. I miss the happy memories I have of my first dog Poppy, when she was a pup and as she grew up. I miss the summer holidays, walking Poppy for a couple of miles down the long sandy beach to visit my Gran. I miss you Poppy, I miss you Gran. I think that’s why I like the beach so much, so many memories. No doubt we will be back to the beach very soon, it’s a very special place for me.
Wishing all my customers, dog walking pals, family and friends a very Merry Christmas. Big hugs to all the doggies. XX
